Welcome!

Welcome to my new blog!  I am so excited to be able to share these great gift and shower/party decoration ideas with everyone.  More ideas are in the works, but I have to start somewhere.  :)  I have put together some cakes so you can see the kind of work you can expect from Smiling Girl Designs.

I absolutely love giving gifts and throwing parties which have a personal touch and are memorable to not only the guest of honor but to all of the guests in attendance.  I  love the idea behind diaper cakes--all of the 'ingredients' can be used right away!  What does every mom and dad need and use on a daily basis?  DIAPERS!  Newborns can go through an average of 14 diapers A DAY.  That's a lot of diapers, so why not help her out?  You can custom design your cake or I can design it for you.  Choose your colors, diaper size, number of tiers you want on your cake and how you would like decorate!

If you are planning a baby shower, don't purchase a bunch of decorations that will just be thrown in a storage box or in the trash.  Decorate with diaper cakes made by Smiling Girl Designs.  Little cakes on each table, a big cake for the centerpiece of the food or gift table...you decide!

These cakes would also make the perfect gift when you are visiting the new parents in the hospital!  Forget flowers, it is just one more thing for the new parents to look after when they already have their hands full.  Bring them a diaper cake!  Not only useful, but different and unique!

Our cakes are made in a variety of sizes, using anywhere from 30-120 diapers.  Prices start at $25.00 for a two-tier cake.  If you are in Indianapolis or the surrounding area, we can personally deliver your 'cake'.  Please let me know at least 5 days before you need your cake if you are in Indianapolis.

Take a look and let me know what you think!  Pass the word along to your friends and please keep me in mind when you are looking to purchase a gift for your favorite Smiling Mommy-to-Be!

  1. Ang they are beautiful! excellent work!! you could even make cloth diaper cakes out of prefolds (they are cheap and can be used as burp cloths, changing pads, as well as diapers!) or other cloth diapers, too! just an idea for someone who might want cloth! :)
